Food was very good, I usually go for an Indian takeaway over eating in the restaurant as I usually prefer it but I have just had one of the best dhansak I’ve had and the service was impeccable . Definitely coming back.

One of the best restaurant to eat in and take away and if I could give more then 5* I would. this was for the old saffron and the new one is so much better. Everything on point i would definitely recommend them for the space and quality food and services. ...

Went on Sunday night and took advantage of the Sunday Special - 18.50 for starter, main, side dish and rice or naan. The food was amazing. Very delicious (particularly the Saffron starter platter and the lamb in garlic and coriander). The food was a flavourful blend of spices without going overboard on the heat. The side dishes were also tasty (although, I would've liked the Bombay potatoes to be a bit spicier). The service was great, very attentive, although, to be fair, the restaurant wasn't busy. The amazing thing about this meal though was the price! 18.50 per person for the quality and amount of food provided represents incredible value for money. Will definitely be back on a Sunday!

We've visited several times - delicious food, freshly cooked to order so understandably doesn't come out quickly. Previously we've found if difficult to keep the drinks flowing but this time the waiters were better at checking on our drinks, which is important to keep the vibe whist waiting for the food. One of the waiters was not as happy/friendly as the others. It turns into a bit of chaos when the dishes arrive (ours was a party of 8). With the waiters shouting out the dishes and the recipents finding it hard to recognise what they ordered. Would be great if the waiters had system to remember who ordered what to make for a more pleasurable experience. Lastly, they don't serve tea of any sort! We're a tea drinking nation, and so is India. Please invest in some tea pots and tea bags. Peppermint tea is also a popular choice. The food will keep us coming back.

Welcome to Saffron Indian & Bangladeshi Restaurant, a delightful culinary gem situated in the heart of Eastleigh at 16 High St, SO50 5LD, United Kingdom. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and tantalizing dishes, Saffron promises an authentic dining experience that pays homage to the rich culinary traditions of India and Bangladesh.

Step inside, and you'll be greeted by a warm ambiance that perfectly complements its exquisite menu. From the moment I entered, it was clear that Saffron takes pride in offering not just food, but a full experience. Upon sampling their acclaimed dhansak, I could easily understand why customers like Harry Niker declare it as one of the best they've tasted—evidencing the restaurant's dedication to quality and flavor.

On my visit, I couldn’t resist the Sunday Special, which delivers a remarkable deal at just £18.50 for an impressive spread: starter, main, side dish, and either rice or naan. The Saffron starter platter and lamb in garlic and coriander were particularly highlights, showcasing a careful balance of spices that elevates each bite without overwhelming the palate. As Matthew Cook noted, it’s an incredible value for money, making it a must-try for anyone looking to indulge in Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine.

What adds to the charm of Saffron is the attentive service. While a few patrons, like Richard Mason, pointed out some occasional chaos during busy hours, the staff are genuinely friendly and eager to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Their commitment to providing freshly cooked dishes does mean a longer wait, but the end results are well worth it.

For curry enthusiasts like those, including Aaron, who rave about the 'great vibe' and 'great curry,' Saffron is more than just a meal; it’s a gathering place. You’ll find a sense of community here—an element that enhances the overall dining experience. And while the lack of tea options was a small miss, the standout culinary creations certainly make up for it.

In conclusion, Saffron Indian & Bangladeshi Restaurant is not just another takeaway spot; it is a destination for those who truly appreciate the artistry of good food. Whether you're dining in or ordering to-go, Saffron is bound to satisfy your cravings with its flavorful dishes and inviting atmosphere. It’s a local treasure I highly recommend for anyone seeking the best curry house in Eastleigh!
